MIGP brought together an international team of event planning experts to develop the proof of concept for a future Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games in Qatar. It included comprehensive chapters on Sustainability & Legacy and a strategic framework addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the "New Norm" set out by the IOC, and the UN Sport for Climate Action Framework.

 

Through extensive stakeholder engagement delivered entirely virtually across global time zones (due to the pandemic), the proof of concept defined high level environmental, social, governance and legacy programmes, practices and policies. MIGP was able to leverage Qatar’s visionary planning and extensive investment in world leading technology and innovation in education, renewable energy, building design, liveability and accessibility in ways that would also support a sustainable Olympic Games hosted in the Middle East.
