Darren is a senior strategy, research and commercial consultant with over 18 years’ experience across events, sport, place and business. He has been a trusted advisor to rights holders, governing bodies and destinations to develop strong evidence-based insights to inform key strategic decisions – maximising returns on investment and benefits across social and economic outcomes.

Since joining MI in 2019, Darren has led the delivery of strategy planning and research, social and economic evaluation and led the case for change and community consultation for business case submissions across public and private sectors, across Australia and the world.

Darren has also delivered strategic services for the Federal Office for Sport, NSW Office of Sport, Infrastructure Tasmania, VenuesWest, Venues Canberra, Venues NSW, Singapore Sports Hub, Rugby Australia, Football Australia, Tennis Australia, NSW Rugby, Basketball NSW, State of Qatar, Copenhagen Convention Bureau, Australian Turf Club, Australian Federal Government and Te Papa Museum bringing breadth and depth to this experience.

Darren is a keen sports and music enthusiast with a passion for protecting the ocean and wildlife across the world. He loves to travel, experience new cultures and be involved in community activities. Now the busy father of twins he is focused about maximising social, economic and environmental legacy impacts that sport and music can bring for our next generation.”
